How to Upgrade Samsung Galaxy SII to Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich

Some days ago Samsung officially announced operating system upgrade for Samsung Galaxy SII and Galaxy Note device to the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, Anyun Gadget will try to explain how to upgrade Galaxy SII from Gingerbread to Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. Following are step by step to upgrade Galaxy SII official from Samsung:


Preparation:
- Samsung Kies, version 2.3.012035_16 or later
- Data Link Cable, APCBU10BBE.
- PC with standard USB port and the following system requirements.

To download the latest version of Samsung Kies visit www.samsungapps.com

Install Samsung Kies
1. If you have installed the old version of Samsung Kies on your PC then make sure to uninstall it first.
2. After old version of Samsung Kies has really uninstalled, then install latest Samsung Kies.

Firmware upgrade
1. Run Samsung Kies
2. Connect your data cable to computer
3. Turn on Samsung Galaxy SII and connect to the data cable
4. Wait until Kies recognize your device.
5. Then you will see a pop-up window informing you that the latest software updates is available. Click "Update"
6. Check "I have read ..."
7. Click "Start Upgrade"
8. Kies will download latest firmware. Wait until it done! Do not disconnect your device!
9. After download process is complete, it will display a window containing a notification that Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade successfully.
