Sony Xperia Ion was officially announced with two-years contact with AT&T operator in United States. This smartphone will be available on June 24, 2012. Sony Xperia ion LT28at is also known as Xperia ion LTE lt28i. Sony Xperia Ion is the first Xperia smartphone from Sony with LTE networks support.

This super smartphone will be marketed at US$99, the cheap price for high specification smartphone.This step was taken by Sony to compete with Lumia 900 from Nokia. Famous Gadget site, Engadget write on it's page: "Starting June 24th, AT&T will be offering the LTE handset -- a first for the newly unified wireless outfit stateside -- for $99 with a new two-year agreement (insert applause for Nokia and its precedent setting Lumia 900 here)"
Sony Xperia Ion using Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread (planned upgrade to 4.0), powered with 1.5GHz dual core processor, Adreno 220 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Sony Xperia Ion comes with 4.55-inch touchscreen display with support by Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology and has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
Sony Xperia S is also equipped with 12 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 16GB of internal memory, LTE network support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microSD slot up to 32GB, and battery 1900mAh capacity.
In addition LTE connectivity, this smartphone also offers some HD connectivity options via DLNA, HDMI, and BRAVIA Sync that will be very easy to connect with other devices.
